That Horrible Moment When You’re Stuck On The Bowl Without Toilet Paper
You’ve been there. You’re at a friendly gathering, slowing removing yourself from the crowd to take care of personal business in the restroom. Your mind wanders as you relieve yourself, only to notice but a shred of soft Charmin left on a cardboard roll. A hasty, anxious look in the cabinets and under the sink yields nothing, and creative problem solving takes over. Time is ticking. A knock at the door sends panic straight to your core.
If only there was something out there in the world that notified you when your toilet paper roll was getting low, so that you and the people you love never have to go through the scarring experience described above.
The RollScout is built specifically for this purpose, alerting the user whenever toilet paper supplies get dangerously low.
The device is a battery-powered toilet paper roll that installs into your bathroom wall easily. When infrared sensors detect that toilet paper levels are low, you’ll see a pulsing red ring light up, making sure you’re as prepared as you need to be.
Knowing that decor is just as important as utility, the folks behind the RollScout are developing the apparatus in a number of different finishes, such as polished chrome, antique bronze, brushed nickel, ceramic white, and 14K gold.
Of course, as handy as it would be to have a light-based alert for the toilet paper roll, an app-connected system that alerted you of low toilet paper levels while you were at the grocery store would be even cooler.
The Kickstarter campaign only began recently, so the team will have to hit its $37,500 goal. To learn more, check out the campaign page here.
